How Automatic Gold and Silver Purchases Work

Automatic gold and silver purchases let you choose eligible physical bullion, a quantity, and a schedule for future orders. The schedule creates consistency; it does not guarantee a return or lock a future price in advance. With Ploutos Steady Stack, each scheduled order uses the product’s current website price when the batch actually runs.

Reviewed August 20, 2026. Program rules, product eligibility, prices, and fulfillment options can change. Always review the current Steady Stack page and order details before enrolling.

The short answer

  • You verify your Ploutos account and connect an approved ACH bank account.
  • You select an eligible product, quantity, frequency, first future purchase date, and delivery preference.
  • Your enrollment stores those instructions, not a future bullion price.
  • At the actual scheduled execution, normally around 8:00 a.m. Eastern, the website’s current product price is captured and recorded.
  • Scheduled ACH orders remain pending until Ploutos manually confirms that funds have cleared.
  • Before the cutoff, you can pause, skip, change, or cancel a schedule from My Account.

How a recurring physical-bullion purchase works

1. Verify once

Scheduled purchases require more setup than a one-time cart order. You sign in, complete the required identity and phone verification, connect the ACH bank account that will fund future purchases, and wait for manual Ploutos approval. This protects the account and creates a verified payment path before any recurring order can run.

2. Choose eligible bullion and a schedule

After approval, you choose from the products currently marked eligible for Steady Stack. You also select the quantity, purchase frequency, first future purchase date, approved ACH account, and delivery preference. Product eligibility and availability are checked again before each scheduled order.

Current frequency choices include daily, weekly, biweekly, monthly, every other month, and quarterly. Daily, weekly, and biweekly plans repeat from the first future date you select. Month-based schedules use the 1st, 15th, or 30th; when February has no 30th, that run uses February 28.

3. The price is captured when the order actually runs

Enrollment does not reserve today’s price for a future order. Bullion markets move continuously, so Steady Stack records the normal website product price at the actual scheduled execution, normally around 8:00 a.m. Eastern. For Ploutos spot-priced products, the system refreshes the market quote first. It records the price source, calculation details, actual lock time, and a tamper-evident hash.

You can monitor the market separately with the Ploutos live gold and silver chart, but a chart price is not the complete checkout price of a physical product. Product premiums, format, availability, payment treatment, and other order details can affect the final product price.

4. Payment clears before fulfillment

The first purchase may use card or ACH. Later scheduled purchases use the approved saved ACH account connected during verification. A scheduled order enters Processing when its price is locked, but it stays clearly flagged as ACH pending and cannot ship or be picked up until Ploutos manually confirms cleared funds. Scheduled totals of $10,000 or more require direct contact and bank wire.

For current delivery rules, review insured bullion shipping and appointment-only pickup in Brockton. The program currently offers standard shipping below the free-shipping threshold, free consolidated shipping after every three cleared purchases, or free local pickup by appointment after payment clears. Orders at or above the current free-shipping threshold qualify for free shipping.

How future pricing differs from a subscription box

A bullion subscription box often charges a recurring dollar amount and chooses the contents for the customer. Steady Stack is different: you choose an eligible listed product and quantity, while the actual future product price is determined when the scheduled order runs. That distinction matters because the quantity is known in advance but the future market price is not.

It is also different from buying a financial security or a fractional claim. The program creates orders for physical products sold through Ploutos. Review each eligible product’s specifications and the current fulfillment policy before you decide whether the format fits what you want to purchase.

Choosing between recurring gold and silver purchases

Gold and silver products can differ substantially in unit price, weight, storage needs, premiums, and resale considerations. Rather than treating one metal as automatically better, compare the physical product details and the amount you are prepared to spend if the market moves before a future execution.

  • Review the format. Compare government-minted coins, privately minted rounds, and bars based on the product information shown on the site.
  • Check the recurring total. Quantity and market movement can make a future order materially larger or smaller than today’s displayed total.
  • Plan for fulfillment. Physical silver can require more space for the same dollar value than physical gold. Shipping and consolidated-delivery choices also matter.
  • Keep flexibility. Choose a schedule you can review and manage before each cutoff instead of assuming markets or personal circumstances will remain unchanged.

What happens if the price feed is unavailable?

A spot-priced automatic run stops without creating an order or attempting ACH when it cannot verify a fresh market quote. Ploutos may review and manually push a paused batch using the latest available quote. If that happens, the quote’s age, Ploutos approval, and actual later lock time are recorded. Products that use a normal WooCommerce price use that exact current product price at lock time.

Can a Steady Stack schedule be changed?

Yes, before the applicable cutoff. My Account lets you change the quantity, frequency, next purchase date, delivery choice, or approved ACH account. You can also pause or resume the plan, skip the next purchase, or cancel. Accepted changes are recorded. Once a scheduled purchase locks, it cannot be changed online.

Questions to ask before enrolling

  1. Is the product I want currently eligible and available?
  2. Can I afford the scheduled quantity if the market price rises before execution?
  3. Which frequency and future date fit how often I want to review the plan?
  4. Do I prefer standard shipping, consolidated shipping, or Brockton pickup after cleared payment?
  5. Do I understand that no future price or investment return is guaranteed?
  6. Do I know the cutoff for changing, skipping, pausing, or cancelling the next purchase?
